Physical Education Manager (Ref. 260820015)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) manage and coordinate physical wellness campaigns, physical education programmes, sports teams and sports facilities;
(b) prepare annual work plans / budget-planning for responsible area and the Sports Development Team as a whole;
(c) supervise and work with staff members on the coordination and planning of projects and campus wide activities;
(d) liaise with internal departments and external organisations in the sports industry for the promotion of physical wellness;
(e) assist in promotion of student-athletes admission scheme and coordinate with schools and sports associations;
(f) represent the University as one of the committee members in the inter-universities sports organisation for promoting local, regional and international sports events;
(g) perform teaching duties and manage sports teams affairs;
(h) supervise the organisation of sports teams events and the development programme for student-athletes;
(i) coordinate and organise competitions and sports exchange programmes with local, regional and overseas universities; and
(j) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work on irregular hours.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree or above in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching or a related discipline, with possession of the professional fitness-related certification (e.g., ACSM-CPT, ACSM-EP, NSCA-CPT, NSCA-CSCS) being an advantage;
(b) a recognised teaching qualification in Physical Education (e.g., Cert Ed., BEd., or PGDE) with supervised classroom teaching practice as a part of the teacher training;
(c) at least five years of solid relevant administrative / specialist and supervisory experience working with university-age students and/or young people;
(d) solid administration and leadership skills and a desire to mentor others to help them reach their full potential;
(e) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate in other languages including Putonghua being an advantage; and
(f) good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
