The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is looking for a high calibre individual to fill the post of Public Relations Manager in the PR & Communications Office.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player with the drive and experience to develop and improve the Club’s internal and external communications. Working closely with and reporting to the Head of PR & Communications, the main job responsibilities are:
- Develop, implement and manage a public relations strategy that supports RHKYC’s vision and long-term objectives.
- Act as the media contact for corporate communications, image and crisis management.
- Handle public and media enquiries and arrange media interview & various networking functions.
- Develop PR tools to maximise the positive image and awareness of RHKYC and its related activities among the local community, governmental bodies, current and potential sponsors, the sailing and rowing communities at large and our members both active and absent.
- Organise and coordinate meetings, briefings and presentations with various governmental bodies.
- Develop strong contacts with sporting authorities and among governmental bodies, focusing on departments that have a relevance to the Club’s activities and facilities.
- Develop strong contacts among local (both Chinese and English speaking) and international media, to effectively communicate and promote the Club and its development and achievements in its core sports.
We look for an experienced professional with:
- Degree holder in corporate communications, public relations or related disciplines.
- Minimum five years’ experience in Public Relations or the Media.
- Solid experience in social media, like facebook, twitter, Weibo, WeChat etc.
- Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both local and national level.
- Strong relationships with both local and international media outlets and governmental departments.
- Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software and Chinese word-processing.
- Must be prepared to work on weekends and public holidays.
