  • Provide visionary supervision and leadership for the athletics programs to ensure high-quality outcomes, efficient service delivery, and alignment with the school's progressive educational philosophy.

  • Act as first-line intervention for coaches, student-athletes, parents, and spectators—promoting, encouraging, and instructing in principles of good sportsmanship, respect, and positive behavior.

  • Deliver orientation, ongoing direction, training, and rules interpretation to coaches to maintain full compliance with game rules, league regulations, and best practices.

  • Champion the safeguarding and well-being of students and vulnerable adults, while upholding exemplary health and safety standards that meet or exceed all legal and school requirements.

  • Handle key administrative duties, including developing athletics policies, managing equipment and gear inventory, coordinating practice and competition schedules, arranging first-aid support, and maintaining accurate records.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field; teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Proven experience teaching PE and/or coaching at the secondary level in an international or bilingual school setting.

  • Strong familiarity with Hong Kong local inter-school competitions and leagues (e.g., HKSSF, school sports associations, or equivalent regional/international events).

  • Excellent bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively communicate with students, parents, coaches, and the wider school community.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop coaches and student-athletes while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving sports culture.

  • Commitment to student safeguarding, child protection, and promoting holistic well-being.

  • First-aid certification (or willingness to obtain promptly) and knowledge of health/safety best practices in sports environments.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills; experience managing schedules, travel logistics, and equipment is highly desirable.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in a progressive or inquiry-based educational environment (e.g., Dalton Plan, IB, or similar).

  • Coaching credentials or success in specific sports relevant to Hong Kong inter-school scenes (e.g., basketball, soccer, table tennis, athletics, lacrosse, badminton).

  • Passion for empowering students through sport, building character, teamwork, resilience, and leadership.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including professional development opportunities, medical insurance, and support for ongoing growth.

  • A supportive, collaborative, and innovative school community dedicated to student-centered learning.

  • The opportunity to shape and lead athletics in a forward-thinking international school.
